HUBUNGAN DUKUNGAN LINGKUNGAN PSIKOSOSIAL DENGAN MOTIVASI PEMBERIAN ASI EKSKLUSIF PADA IBU BEKERJA

ABSTRACT
Ambarawa Health Center has the lowest coverage of exclusive breastfeeding in Semarang regency that is equal
to 22,5%. If needs high motivation to provide exclusive breastfeeding. Psychosocial environment effects the
motivation of breastfeeding mothers to give exclusive breastfeeding. The aim of the study was to analyze the
correlation between psychosocial support environment with the motivation to give exclusive breastfeeding in the
working mothers. The design of study was cross sectional. The total population of all working mothers with babies
aged 7-12 month old babies was 70, with samples of 69 people. Purposive sampling technique was used. Univariate
analysis used frequency distribution. Bivariat analysis used chi square test. The mothers who had psychosocial
environment support was in less good category as many as 52,2% (36 people), goods many as 47,8% (33 people).
The high motivation category of exclusive breastfeeding was 60,9% (42 people), the low category was 39,1% (27
people). Bivariat analysis showed that there was a correlation between psychosocial support environment with the
motivation of exclusive breastfeeding in working mothers (p = 0,029). There is a correlation between psychosocial
support environment with the motivation of exclusive breastfeeding in working mothers. It is recommended for
families to play a role in finding information about pumped breastmilk, provide equipment of pumped breastmilk
and is willing to pump breastmilk in the workplace.
